SAN FRANCISCO, CA / ACCESSWIRE / May 14, 2021 / How can employees collaborate in a marketplace that moves at lightning speed? It's a big question, especially for partially or completely remote teams. It's also critical to the overall success of any organization, as noted by nearly three-quarters of employers per research by Queens University of Charlotte . What workers need is an easy-to-use asynchronous workspace that feels natural and intuitive. That's not easy to find, despite all the tech stack products available.

The issue with many online collaboration solutions is that they tend to have siloed features. That is, they do a few specific things well. In other words, they're part of the puzzle, but they can't stand on their own. This forces employees to rely on numerous interfaces for collaboration, which can lead to hiccups in productivity, creativity, and camaraderie.

What does this look like in a real world situation? Consider a few team members who start ideating on a Slack channel. Their brainstorm takes off, so they move the discussion to emails. From there, they add to-dos to Asana. However, all their ideas are in different places and can't be simply converged without myriad cutting and pasting. As a result, momentum and motivation may wane-and revolutionary concepts can get lost in a tangle of communication obstacles.

Enabling one-stop collaboration on a full-service platform

In 2020, the founders at BeeCanvas sought to solve one angle of this problem. They deployed an online whiteboard, sketchpad, and workshop tool for remote teams. Their tool was a hit, but they quickly realized it wasn't covering the underlying need for a full-service collaborative platform that fostered and fueled reflection and innovation. That's when they realized that with some reimagining of their cloud-based system, they could offer clients a comprehensive collaborative solution.

As CEO Raymond Hong explains, their epiphany stemmed from user feedback. "People kept telling us all the ways they were using BeeCanvas to do more than we expected when we built the platform," he says. "And to be honest, our own teams were pushing the envelope of the system's visual and interactive document capabilities, too. So we decided to springboard from the original product vision by widening the features to reduce and eliminate all those common team collaboration friction points."

By March 2021, BeeCanvas had a new name: Allo . The company also had a completely different interface that intertwined project management, sales planning, visual thought mapping, centralized corporate knowledge, online whiteboarding, strategic brainstorming, and more. And with the overhaul came the one thing that the market hadn't seen yet: A collaboration tool built for the natural habits of today's workers.

Accelerating employee communication via a multipurpose system

What sets Allo apart is its agile, freeform interface that allows for tremendous user customization. The software gives employees the ability to link visual, text, and audio brainstorms together. Allo's interactive canvases can be connected in myriad ways, allowing workers to move between thoughts and suggestions. However, Allo isn't just a place for imagination. It's also a place to gather information-and people.

For Hong, that includes morning standup meetings. Each day, his team uses Allo to bring together employees spread across two continents. In a few minutes, they join together in a touchdown session online and prepare for the next 24 hour period. Because they use the Allo platform for these daily briefs, they can capture and refer back to any "Aha!" moments.

Allo's clients have shown similar success in using the system innovatively as their preferred online collaboration hub. Stephen Price, CEO of CoFoundersLab, has noted that Allo's system enables his crew to find common ground whether they're working around the world or around the corner. Price appreciates the "expressive tools" embedded within the software that make sharing both textual and visual.

As the leader of his business, Price leverages Allo to help move his own thoughts to a more universal location and keep them in an accessible repository. This helps him better illustrate his visions and goals for the benefit of the rest of his colleagues, too. He and his coworkers also depend on Allo's drag-and-drop canvases to more fully prepare for sales calls. And on a personal level, Price has moved his task checklist onto Allo so he can better see the full breadth of his priorities.

CoFoundersLab is just one of the many Allo users experimenting with the platform. Companies from startups to enterprises have shifted many of their operations onto the system in an effort to remain innovative and disruptive in their industries. For Hong, their interest indicates his team's on the right track.

"We're committed to adding new features, dashboards, and other options as we evolve this exciting platform in response to user input," he says. "At the end of the day, we want to make collaboration effortless-and fun- for all teams."
