Newscom RSS Channels
Newscom RSS works across many platforms including Windows and Macintosh and other operating systems as well as a growing number of wireless devices. RSS previews take up very little space on customer hard drives and updates run in the background without affecting other tasks.

In order to view any RSS channel, you must load it into an RSS reader or use a browser that supports RSS feeds. The latest version of Internet Explorer (Windows) and Safari for Mac OSX both support RSS. To learn more about RSS and how to use it, see RSS FAQs.

Newscom RSS FAQ

What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a technology that allows you to receive updates of specific content within “channels”, which when viewed within an RSS reader, provide summarized lists of web-content, along with links to the full version of the content.

Why Should I use Newscom RSS channels?

RSS saves you time and effort. With RSS, you don’t need to search for the images and stories that are most relevant to you. Instead, you load content category (RSS "channels") of interest to you in an RSS reader. Newscom then delivers the content right to your desktop. By using Newscom RSS you get:

  • Relevancy. You see only the images and stories you want from hundreds of providers.
  • Timeliness. Updates are sent to you throughout your work day.
  • Conciseness. You see one-line headlines and summaries. When you want to see the full image or story in more detail you simply click on the links provided which will take you back to the Newscom site.
  • Smoother workflow. Keep your RSS reader open and get consistently updated images and stories from Newscom.

Windows users: How do I load a Newscom RSS channel into my reader?
Place your cursor over the channel name and right click your mouse. Select "copy shortcut" from the list of options. In your reader of choice (i.e. NewsGator Online or Google Beta Reader) copy the shortcut into the reader's "Add Feed URL" command (most readers have language to this effect for this particular command). The feed should load and begin updating.
